  • A: Most of our clinical partners maintain full labs and staff, while smaller offices might send some items out for fabrication elsewhere. Residents can have the opportunity to learn more about Össur Design Studio as well. This is an excellent question to discuss with clinicians as you interview for your residency site.

  • A: Our clinical partners are in a variety of geographic locations across the country and therefore, varied in their size and scope. We range from extremely busy clinics in major metropolitan areas to smaller clinics with a more focused caseload in more rural areas.

  • A: Residents in a single discipline residency model have the opportunity to stay on for their second discipline year based on their performance and clinical staffing. Some residents apply to move to a different company within our network for their second year as well. The positive communication that exists between our clinical partners makes this possible.

  • A: This is dependent on the clinical site where you are hired and should be discussed in the interview process. Some of our clinical partners keep their residents in one location and others take advantage of excellent learning opportunities around their local organization for enhanced resident training.

  • A: Most of our companies do not require residents to be on call unless the resident is interested in the opportunity to make extra money. Many of our companies do have hospital contracts and residents can participate in those calls with appropriate supervision from their Mentors. Home visit opportunities also vary across the wider organization based on the local practice model. Ask about these practices during your residency interview.

  • A: Our residents meet bi-monthly for discussions with all residents around the country. These meetings include various presentations for advancing clinical knowledge and meeting some NCOPE quarterly requirements.

  • A: We cover the cost of your first attempt at each exam while employed with us. We also offer exam prep opportunities for residents.

  • A: Yes, all of our clinics pay for your standard NCOPE residency fees for either single or dual discipline residency focus.
