National Residency Director
The partnership’s national residency director is Renée Van Veld, PT, DPT, charged with development and implementation of the residency curriculum. Dr. Van Veld came to the position in 2020 with 19 years of clinical education experience in physical therapy, both as a clinical instructor for individual doctoral students and as Director of Clinical Education for a doctoral level physical therapy program for 15 years. This experience included guidance in clinical education for over 600 PT students in this time frame, as well as more focused mentoring for many students each year as needed based on challenges related to their clinical education work outside the classroom.
Dr. Van Veld also has over 20 years of clinical experience as a physical therapist, primarily working at a Level I trauma urban county hospital and specializing in evaluating and treating patients with orthopedic trauma and/or limb loss. She continues to teach content associated with PT evaluation and treatment of patients with lower extremity limb loss for 3 DPT programs in Indiana.
